About us
Founded in 1996, the Girls Middle School is an independent day school located in the heart of Silicon Valley for girls in grades 6-8. GMS is recognized for its small, nurturing environment and commitment to non-traditional subject areas. Girls experience computer science, engineering, and entrepreneurial studies and also learn about relating to themselves and others in social and emotional learning. At GMS, girls develop leadership skills, a strong sense of self, and a lifelong passion for learning.
GMS is a member of the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) and the National Coalition of Girls Schools (NCGS). Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), in the 2003-04 school year, GMS recently received the highest level of accreditation for a full six year term, an unusual accomplishment by such a young school.
