Course Description

This course has been designed to provide a rich learning environment where education occurs by completing engaging assignments and participating in fun activities. This course introduces students to the Spanish language where they learn basic vocabulary and common Spanish phrases.  The main goal in this class is to develop the students’ communication skills through Spanish language repetition and story telling.

Philosophy

6th grade Spanish course gives the students the opportunity to gradually develop their communication skills.  It is important for students to understand that learning a second language takes dedication, focus, and time.  This course also promotes an understanding of the importance of learning a foreign language and its culture.

  • Practicing vocabulary
  • Acting  exercises
  • Follow commands
  • Singing and understanding Spanish songs

Students will  learn to recognize simple phases and will practice their communication skills

  • Creating stories
  • Presenting their stories in class
  • Presenting and acting for the fluent speakers class
  • Ordering food
  • Asking and answering simple questions in Spanish
