Course Description

The sixth-grade SEL class prepares students in developing communication skills, conflict resolution skills, appreciation of differences, and self-appreciation. SEL provides a supportive and safe atmosphere where the students can discuss many of the challenges that face adolescent girls. In this course students also learn accurate information about puberty, health, and sexuality.

Course Description

Seventh-grade SEL continues to promote and deepen the skills learned in the sixth-grade. Emphasis continues to be placed on group cooperation, building empathy, and understanding one self and others.

Course Description

Eighth-grade SEL continues to build on the curriculum.  Students continue their development and understanding of themselves and others, and further their insight and ability to see themselves as a proactive member of a larger global community. Drug education, values clarification, and assertiveness skills are also an important part of the curriculum.
