Alumnae
 |
On June 12, 2001, The Girls' Middle School graduated its pioneer class. Each year since, our alumnae ranks have grown. These girls are precious to us and we want to keep track of each, just as we encourage them to keep in touch with each other. |
If you are one of our alumnae, we urge you to contact us whenever something important happens in your life, for example, a change of address or a significant accomplishment at school, home or extracurricular activity.
Why not take a moment and send us an alumna update now? >>

GMS Alumnae finds success at Palo Alto Prep
After Laura DeVoe graduated from GMS, she matriculated at Gunn High School in Palo Alto. She was subsequently miserable, missing the small classes and community atmosphere of GMS. After looking around the area and considering other options, she chose Palo Alto Prep. Laura says, "I appreciate the opportunity to work closely with my instructors, who personalize the curriculum to challenge and interest me." Laura feels that GMS prepared her perfectly for the expectations of her new school. She is enjoying learning deeply about each subject she takes, from the causes and effects of civil wars around the globe to Trigonometry.

GMS Grad Makes Good in Math and Science
We know that GMS promotes a love of math and science through its unique hands-on curriculum, but now we have evidence that our graduates continue to study and excel in these subjects.
Kersten Schnurle, GMS 2003, was awarded the Rensselaer Medal by Castilleja School. The Castilleja faculty recognized Kersten as a student who distinguished herself in math and science. Each high school can award only one medal to an outstanding junior. The goals of the medal are to recognize the superlative academic achievement of young people and to motivate students toward careers in science, engineering, and technology. Congratulations, Kersten!
