W.B.A.L. West Bay Athletic League http://ms.wbalsports.org/
We are in the WBAL, with Menlo, Casti, Harker, Priory and more. This league is outstanding and it gives us many opportunities for numerous sports and levels.
VA: 7th & 8th graders that have had a year or more experience in the sport--the most competitive team.
VB: 7th & 8th graders that are new to the sport or have had minimal experience playing.
JVA: 6th graders that are familiar with the sport, or have had previous experience playing.
JV6: Basketball only, 6th graders who have had minimal experience playing.
JVB: 6th graders that are brand new to the sport.
Most teams will practice and or play games 3 or 4 days per week
Most Softball and Soccer games start at 4PM.
GMS home games will take place at Baylands Sports Complex on Wednedays from 3 to 4:30.
Softball games are 1 1/2 hours.
Soccer, Basketkall and Volleyball games last one hour.
Games usually start at 4 but may go as late as 7
There are 4 sports seasons each year, 3 of the 4 is considered full time
Because The Girls' Middle School is committed to inclusion and participation, all competitive sports are open to any girl who commits to playing. We have no tryouts or cuts for JVB and the VB teams. Girls must try out to play on either the JVA or VA teams. To accommodate the range of skill levels and abilities, we field multiple teams for all sports, including Varsity and Junior Varsity levels. GMS is a member of the West Bay Athletic League, which also includes Castilleja, Crystal Springs Uplands, Eastside College Prep, Harker, Keys, King’s Academy, Menlo, Pinewood, Priory, Sacred Heart, St. Matthews, Nueva, and Woodland. Each season includes several sports opportunities:
