Entrepreneurial Studies
In the Entrepreneurial Program, seventh grade girls have the unique opportunity to experience creating and running a business of their own. Working in small groups of three to four girls, students write business plans, request start-up capital from investors, receive funding for their companies, make product samples, manufacture inventory, and sell their products or services to real-world customers. Drawing upon lessons learned in many aspects of the Girls’ Middle School curriculum, the girls learn first-hand the importance of creativity, teamwork, communication, consensus-building, personal responsibility, and compromise as they experience the joys and frustrations of running their own businesses.
Goals:
- Creating a Business
- Writing a Business Plan
