Emily remembers GMS as "a safe place to be whoever you want to be."
Emily Laiterman had a fear of public speaking until she gave her pitch to investors at Entrepreneurial Night. In that pivotal seventh grade moment, Emily could not have foreseen that eventually she would lead workshops on public speaking and presentation skills. Emily graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a BS in Computer Science and a minor in Linguistics. She is a Localization Project Manager at Apple, in her words, a job "all about language and understanding international customs and culture." She attributes the eighth grade Mexico trip and her exposure to Spanish at GMS as inspiration for her career choices. Emily's goal is to eventually have more influence on product decisions, "and bring more women to the table to increase the diversity of perspectives weighing in on those decisions." She remembers GMS as "a safe place to be whoever you want to be."
