Comprised of current GMS parents, Advancement Ambassador Committee members serve in two capacities: (1) as a sounding board to support the Advancement team at GMS, and (2) as peer-to-peer fundraisers for The GMS Fund and the Bennett Scholars Program. Members will assist the Advancement team by brainstorming new ideas, providing input about fundraising strategies and collateral, participating in community-building efforts, and encouraging family, friends, and corporate sponsorships to give or build meaningful connections to GMS–including gift solicitations.
Specifically for peer-to-peer fundraising, members will assist with preparation for The GMS Fund in the fall, work on increasing Bennett Scholars Breakfast participation in the spring, and generally serve as boots on the ground for the Advancement team by reminding their fellow parents to give to GMS. For The GMS Fund, you will encourage family participation, assist during the Call-a-Thon in late October, and communicate with fellow parents via email and WhatsApp. For Bennett Scholars, you will similarly encourage family participation and communicate with fellow parents, but you will also have the opportunity to volunteer at our Bennett Scholars Breakfast in late March 2025.
In each grade level, we will specifically have two Chairs to guide their grade-level activity and serve as close liaisons between their grade and the rest of the AAC.
Both of these campaigns are not possible without the support of our parent community, as they help foster community involvement, maintain parent-to-parent relationships, and ensure the success of our initiatives.
